Verification is not a one-time stamp. Records can move as stronger evidence appears, ambiguities are resolved, or a source is corrected. Material changes belong in the public record.
Verification is visible.
Discovered or entered, but not yet substantively reviewed.
Evidence is being gathered, checked, or reconciled.
The published claims have met our verification standard.
A material question remains unresolved.
A material claim has been challenged, contradicted, or removed from reliance.
A status describes the state of our review. A record can remain visible while a questionable number stays out of CHILDREN FOUND.
We do not silently erase material changes.
If a material claim changes, the correction should show what changed, when it changed, and why. The earlier state does not need to vanish simply because better evidence arrived later.

That is a status, not a promise. When a correction or withdrawal is recorded, it will appear here rather than disappearing without explanation.
Research stays separate from counting.
Researching and Needs Follow-up records are not treated as if they were Verified. Their presence lets you see the difference between what is known, what is still being checked, and what is strong enough to change the national counter.
